Position: Packaging Supervisor
Reports To: Production Manager
Schedule: Full Time Exempt: Monday-Friday 3PM-11PM
Job Description: The Packaging Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager and is responsible for aiding in packaging operations and inventory management. They will be responsible for helping the Production Manager & Asst. Packaging Manager carry out the company's detailed packaging plan. They will help manage a team of Packaging Technicians and lead by example in efficiency, organization, and quality control. Additionally, the Packaging Supervisor will participate in regular on-the-job training, with the expectation of learning how to perform pertinent aspects of the Assistant Manager of Packaging's job in case of their absence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop expertise in cannabis processing to maintain product quality and integrity.
- Supervise and actively participate in packaging processes.
- Ensure timely completion of packaging tasks and adherence to deadlines.
- Mentor and guide Packaging Technicians, fostering skill development.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and assist in their preparation.
- Cultivate an efficient and effective packaging environment and culture.
- Identify and address packaging improvement opportunities through appropriate channels.
- Collaborate with compliance to ensure regulatory adherence and maintain accurate batch records.
- Manage the procurement of necessary packaging supplies.
- Enforce policies to prevent internal shrinkage and maintain employee safety and security.
- Contribute to the performance review process for Packaging Technicians.
- Attain proficiency in label printing, branding, and quality assurance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- 2+ years of packaging experience is required (in cannabis a plus)
- 2+ Supervisory experience is required
- Metric proficiency
- Knowledge of packaging and labeling regulations
- Proficient leadership and communication skills
- Excellent time management and organization
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet production goals
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, as well as consistently lift 10-20 lbs. and occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work seated and standing for extended periods of time on concrete floors, maintaining body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and using your hands to hold, grasp, turn, pick, and pinch to complete tasks
