**Job Overview
**
We are looking for an Operator to join our Operations team. This position will be responsible for turning raw goods to meet customer specifications and assisting as needed in other various roles. This position will also have a focus on key metrics for company success such as safety, quality, and compliance with company policies.
**Requirements:
**
- 5 years experience as a Machine Operator or like experience
- Must have patience and attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative
- Forklift experience
- Ability to use hand tools
- Must be able to pass a drug test
- Must be able to pass a physical screening
- No theft or larceny in background
- Has a team player mentality
- Willingness to learn and accept responsibility
- Must be able to work overtime
**Responsibilities:
**
RUN MACHINE -Be on time -Put material on unwinds. -Put correct amount of yards in In-Process roll. -Check cut widths at shift change and changeovers. -Take material off rewind. -Keep weights in spec. -Properly flag defective material. -Change adhesive drums. -Make up splices. -Monitor schedule. -Put cores on shaft. -Take rolls off rewinds and unwinds. -Line up material on shafts. -Maintain SOP specifications. -Maintain MOP specifications. -Stack empty skids and discard raw material packing.
ADMINISTRATIVE -Fill out daily Job Reports -Print next production order -Enter daily production -Call out next job in the system for Changeover. -Fill out tickets for next job. -Verify order numbers and tickets numbers. -Accurately post raw material usage.
COMMUNICATION: -Communicate with crew on shift -Communicate with crews before and after shift - Communicate with plant personnel: material handler mechanics electrician’s lab supervisor. -Know where crew is at all times.
QUALITY: -Visually inspect machine from front to back -Check material running for defects. -Lab checks -Verify raw material widths.
CHANGEOVERS -Return raw materials from previous job. -Change rubber rolls. -Change cylinders. -Change doctor blades. Change knives -Send rubber roll to shop to be cut to size. -Break down raw material for next job. -Install raw material.
GMP: Sweeping Mopping Clean/straighten area
Other duties as assigned
**Physical Requirements
:
**
Range of motion and flexibility – ability to turn head/neck to side (frequently), ability to twist upper body to the side while sitting (frequently).
Manual dexterity/motor skills – Ability to operate fork truck, driving backwards, using mirrors (frequently), ability to operate fork truck equipped with specialized lifting devices.
Ability to work for extended periods (full shift) in temperatures above 90 F, with variable humidity (seasonal), short periods of time in temperatures exceeding 110 F
Ability to lift greater than 50 lbs. with lift assistance.
