Nesco Resource is looking for both 2nd and 3rd Shift CNC Technicians located in Waterbury, CT. This is a direct placement for the right candidates.
Shifts:
-2nd Shift: 2:30pm-11pm
-3rd Shift: 11pm-6am
Pay: Depending on experience
Job Summary: The CNC Technician is a skilled professional responsible for the setup, programming, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines used in manufacturing. These machines are utilized to precisely cut, drill, and shape materials such as metal, plastic, or wood to produce parts and products according to specifications. The role demands technical expertise in machine programming, setup, quality control, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare CNC machines for operation by installing and adjusting tools, dies, fixtures, and other machine components according to job specifications and blueprints.
- Input or modify CNC programs to control the machine's movements and operations. Utilize CAD and CAM software to develop or refine programs for new and existing parts.
- Operate CNC machinery to produce parts as per the design specifications. Start the machine, monitor its operation, and make real-time adjustments to ensure accuracy and optimal performance.
- Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet strict quality and dimensional standards. Make necessary adjustments to correct any discrepancies.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and conducting minor repairs to keep the equipment running efficiently and prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose and resolve any operational or technical issues with the CNC machinery. Collaborate with engineers and other specialists when necessary to troubleshoot mechanical or software problems.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during machine operation and maintenance. Ensure the use of appropriate protective gear and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other technicians to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and address any production challenges.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in CNC technology, programming techniques, and industry best practices. Pursue training opportunities to enhance skills and improve efficiency.
- Proficient in operating CNC machines, with a strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC programming.
- Knowledgeable in machine setup, calibration, and routine maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, materials, and precision measuring instruments.
- Hands-on experience working with CNC machines, either through employment or formal training programs.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting mechanical, software, or operational issues within CNC machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in all aspects of the job.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina for operating machinery and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with colleagues and supervisors.
