SUMMARY: Manage the district Career and Technical programs and services to students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide on-site supervision by administering programs, budget, staff, student enrollment, articulation with high schools, and relationships with other school districts.
- Supervise the planning/development of Career Technical Education in grades 7-12.
- Oversee district compliance with the Arizona and Federal Legislative Acts such as, but not limited to, The Carl Perkins Act, the Arizona Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Education.
- Coordinate and monitor district efforts in applying to and securing state, federal and private grants.
- Develop and submit state required data and related reports.
- Coordinate the implementation of district related programs.
- Develop, monitor, and revise, if necessary, the district budget for career technical education as well as acquire additional funding sources through appropriate grants.
- Provide professional development activities for CTE.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding CTE developments, promoting of CTE.
- Supervise the establishment and/or continuation of related advisory groups.
- Oversee the development of curriculum and assessment of all CTE courses 7-12.
- Build work based learning opportunities and relationships within the community.
- Participate in community networking in effort to build relationships and assess community needs.
- Network with other community members in effort to secure job placement opportunities and internships.
- Increase certification numbers.
- Create programs that structure learning around state and industry standards.
- Promote hands-on instruction where students are provided opportunities to demonstrate technical skills in an industry-based lab setting.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must provide documentation of the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university.
- Evidence of five (5) years successful teaching experience and/or administrative experience in a vocational field.
- Successful building-level administrative or supervisory experience.
- Experience working in secondary (9-12) education, preferred.
- Understand and possess working knowledge of the Arizona Academic Standards, preferred.
- Experience and working knowledge of state and federal education laws and policies, preferred.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
- Valid secondary Arizona Teaching Certificate.
- Valid Arizona Supervisor or Principal Certificate.
SKILL/KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration.
- Competency-Based Education Programming.
- Ensuring the use of technology in the teaching-learning process.
- Considerable knowledge of current literature, trends and developments in the field.
- Applying policies, procedures, rules and regulations established for the District.
- Knowing Governing Board meeting procedures and protocol.
- Handling confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
- Establishing rapport with Governing Board members, administrative officials and others.
- Analyzing data and compiling and presenting materials.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Working with the general public, administrators, directors and other elected officials.
- Making independent decisions.
- Managing a budget and personnel.
- Composing, writing and editing reports and other correspondence.
- Knowing local, state and federal guidelines governing area of assignment.
- Applying theories and principles in crisis management.
- Problem solving through data analysis and the development of action plans.
- Resolving conflicts.
- Creating and delivering presentations.
- Promoting positive public relations.

Light Work: This job may involve exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
