Responsible for establishing and implementing a pesticide program for the University's landscape and grounds or academic and housing buildings that is in compliance with current federal and state laws.
Duties:
- Performs tasks requiring good organizational skills.
- Develops a written program for control of major pests associated with ornamental plants, turfs, or all campus buildings.
- Implements and maintains a pesticide program by applying pesticide and supervising the work of others in this area.
- Provides a list of materials and estimated quantities of each material necessary to control normal outbreaks of pests common to this area.
- Determines the necessary amount and properly mixes the chemicals to be utilized for each application.
- Ensures security and inventory of pesticide materials and equipment.
- Maintains records of pesticide applications performed.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
