Competitive salary range of $95,000-$105,000 (Director) or $110,000-$116,000 (Senior Director) commensurate with experience and comprehensive medical and dental plan*

In addition, The Senior Director/Director of Operations, Data and Technology will:
In collaboration with senior leaders and operations team, contribute to network-wide strategy for the organization and work towards its implementation
Serve as a model leader for the organization, demonstrating sound leadership and management practices
Identify and coordinate opportunities to maximize resources in alignment with organizational values and programmatic goals
Manage change by seeking to understand its effects upon the organization and key stakeholders and anticipating unintended consequences.
In collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer (COO), ensure a safe environment for scholars and staff by
managing state and local compliance for school operations, including safety drills, reporting, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, with a focus on mitigating risks.
preparing for and responding to emergent operational situations e.g. leaks, weather related closures, broken buses.
Build the capacity of school-based operations staff by:
Working with school leaders to set the vision for school-based operations
Leading weekly operations meetings
Providing one-on-one coaching of school-based staff to increase capacity for operational tasks
Assessing professional development needs for operational staff and
Structuring, sequencing, and delivering high quality professional development to school operations teams to ensure effective program implementation
Lead the network and school-based operations teams in effectively executing complex high stakes projects with stakeholder engagement
In collaboration with the other members of the network operations team, own the frameworks for school operations topics (recess, lunch service, arrival, dismissal, physical space, other school-based systems, etc), working with the Directors of Elementary and Secondary Schools and school leadership teams to set expectations, define excellence, evolve and document standard operating procedures, and build tools to support schools
Technology
With the support of the Chief Operating Officer, coordinate with Chief Financial Officer for all budgeting related to staff and scholar technology purchases, upgrades, and repairs;
Coordinate with school-based and network senior leaders on instructional technology strategy and implementation;
Manage IT and systems administration support staff and vendor relationships
Lead vendor selection and hiring processes with stakeholder engagement and in alignment with organizational goals and values
Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware
Data
SIS:
Serve as system administrator for student information system (SIS) and other instructional and business systems
Manage use of information imports and exports in SIS systems
Oversee the professional development of staff on use of the SIS system, including exports, imports, schedules, roster creation/editing, and yearly rollover processes
Collaborate with school leaders to ensure information captured in SIS and reports are accurate and meet the needs of the organization
Ensure data within SIS system is up to date and effectively sets up the systems and protocols that enable applicable staff members to complete regular data clean up
Serve as the Local Education Agency data manager responsible for the collection and submission of student, personnel, and school accountability data to the RI Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education
Provide data and evidence based insights to BVP’s Board, funders, and other stakeholders as needed;
Online platform integration and strategy
Ensure network-wide access to online platforms via Clever Portal by managing integration with the SIS and troubleshooting.
Maintain expert-level knowledge of data access for all applications housed in Clever
Serve as the technology and integration point of contact for applications such as Clever, STAR Renaissance, Pear, ELLevation etc
Advise the Chief Academic Officer on online platform selection, usage, and strategy.
Scholar lottery and enrollment:
In collaboration with the COO and CEO, set strategy for scholar enrollment
Manage lottery and enrollment data systems;
Oversee procedures for scholar enrollment & withdrawal to maintain required school enrollment levels
Oversee maintenance of scholar records
Report on student recruitment, retention, and attrition data
Provide direction and support to the registrar for scholar enrollment
Qualifications
Senior Director
Master’s degree required
Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in data and technology, ideally within a multi-site organization, with experience in school settings preferred
Director
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 7 years of related experience
Knowledge of Student Information Systems such as Aspen required
Familiarity with Rhode Island state data reporting requirements and regulations preferred
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders, including teachers, students, families, and vendors.
Bachelors or Masters degree preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Essential Functions
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
Occasional working outside during inclement weather.
