Overview:
The William Morrow Group, a division of HarperCollins Publishers, is seeking an Editorial Intern. The Morrow Group is comprised of several imprints – flagship imprint William Morrow, as well as Dey Street Books, Mariner Books, Harvest, Harper Voyager, and Avon Books – and publishes a range of titles across most publishing categories, from bestselling mysteries and romances to prize-winning literary fiction, cookbooks, politics, and pop culture titles. In this role, you will be supporting two fiction Editors at William Morrow.
Responsibilities:- Learns about the editorial process.
- Reads and evaluates proposals and manuscripts under consideration, writes reader’s reports, researches author track records and comparison titles, and drafts rejection letters.
- Researches trends in editorial content, marketing approaches, and publishing trends as needed.
- Assists with writing jacket copy.
- Assists with author/agent communications.
- Prepares manuscripts for production.
- Supports editors through administrative tasks such as mailings, requesting marketing materials, and other in-office duties.
- Eager to learn about the publishing business
- Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2025 or 2026 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to two years of work experience.
- Candidates must be available to work in our NYC officefrom Monday – Thursday for a total of 28 hours per week, from June 2 – August 7, 2025. Compensation for this internship is $18 per hour.

- Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

- A passion for books is highly valued!
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
