2025 Internship - Software Engineer - Simulator Systems (TRU Simulation Training - Lutz, FL)

JOB SUMMARY:
Gain a technical foundation, acquire leadership skills, project management experience, and cross-functional process knowledge. The Software Engineer Internship will assist with the development, auditing, and documentation of key processes and workflows
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Design, develop, integrate, test, and document flight simulator software
+ Work closely with engineers of varying disciplines to meet project requirements
+ Participate in engineering design reviews
+ Perform hardware/software integration & testing on flight simulator training devices
+ Provide engineering staff with recommendations for software/hardware enhancements
+ Work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business
+ Research and analyze data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Professional and diplomatic demeanor
+ Strong sense of accountability and integrity
+ Strong problem-solving skills
+ Ability to deal with change and work in a dynamic environment
Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
