About the Job
The Finance ‘Valuation and FP&A Summer Team Member’ role entails assisting with various daily, monthly, and quarterly analysis as it relates to management of front-end MSR capitalization grids assumptions and subsequent MSR month-end fair valuation model assumptions, using in-house analytical tools. The role assists with periodic evaluation of MSR valuation assumptions, stress testing before recommending and implementing an assumption change to management. The role also involves assisting with closed loans and rate locks valuation oversight and new products related activities that helps with the overall financial compliance, valuation, and accurate financial reporting. In addition, in the FP&A capacity, this role supports monthly reporting, variance analysis, budget and forecasting and other relevant financial analysis. The FP&A role is also responsible for the execution of monthly/quarterly/annual internal management reporting processes.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Valuation:
- Learn and support daily, monthly/quarterly analysis relating to management of MSR capitalization and subsequent MSR month-end fair valuation model.
- Assisting with all daily / monthly analysis of MSR capitalized values to monitor day-over-day changes relative to market rate movements.
- Daily analysis such as - Lock volume, Par Sensitivity using the MSR capitalization grid modelled values across all product groups.
- Comparison of UWM risk profile against industry generic values.
- Assist with Month end Valuation assumptions management – tracking key data points to analyze MSR broker database, evaluating MSR valuation assumption, stress testing before recommending and implementing an assumption change based on management’s discussion with valuation experts.
- Assist the Finance management team with research and analysis of industry MSR valuation data.
- Monitoring of MSR capitalized value at point of sale and performing necessary analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Maintaining broader FV management assumptions tracker for month over month changes.
- Collaborate with business partners across UWM.
- Support ad hoc business needs as they arise from time to time, to assist with management discussions; historical trend analysis and creation of other forward-looking analysis using internal tools and systems available.
FP&A:
- Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
- Perform monthly/quarterly analytical processes used in internal Management reporting.
- Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.
- Analyze past results and perform variance analysis identifying trends and anomalies.
- Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
- Update financial models to support strategic initiatives.
- Research, analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources into business information as directed by management.
- Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports/ models.
- Support management team with data-driven analysis.
- Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2025 or 2026 (current junior/senior status)
- The ability to work Monday thru Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from the end of May to mid-August
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics.
