OVERVIEW:
Charleston Wine + Food is seeking a talented, creative, and ambitious social media guru to join our highly collaborative team. The Social Media Support hire will support the growth of the brand's online presence by creating + executing engaging marketing strategies and will drive digital marketing strategies through a content-focused brand lens. This individual will demonstrate strong judgment, have a sharp eye for detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have strong writing + analytical skills.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collaborate with Marketing + Communications Department to develop creative marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, exposure, and relevancy
- Have strong awareness of emerging technologies and social platforms, staying current with industry, advertising, and cultural trends
- Strategize and develop digital content that drives consumer demand, brand virality, and conversion by leveraging the power of social media, compelling content and storytelling, trending topics, and platform changes that impact branded content. This content should be developed prior to the start of each month.
- Support the creation and execution of a multi-platform social media content calendar, creating engaging content that reactively and proactively produces storylines that align with brand messaging
- Execute postings on social media platforms: Instagram feed posts 3-5 times per week, Instagram stories 5-10 times per week, Facebook posts 3-5 times per week, and TikTok posts 3-5 times per week.
- Assist with monitoring notifications from all platforms, emphasizing Charleston Wine + Food's willingness to respond and engage with customers
- Respond to direct messages and comments in a timely, professional, and friendly manner, maintaining the voice of Charleston Wine + Food. If a message requires more detailed brand input, complex resolution, or has a potential impact on the brand's image, escalate it to the Brand + Creative Manager for a response or follow-up
- Assist in the execution and management of social media marketing activities associated with partnership benefits. This includes creating and/or executing social media content in collaboration with the partner and the CHSWF Brand + Creative Manager.
- Assist with all social media video content creation for Charleston Wine + Food's social platforms. Support with the creation of TikTok videos + Instagram Reels, combining trends and brand standards to create engaging social content Support with maintaining Charleston Wine + Food's Pinterest account, posting regularly to increase following and engagement
- During festival week, collaborate with the Brand and Creative Manager to develop a content plan. Support all social media needs, including managing festival partner social media marketing benefits.
- Support with the management of the Charleston Wine + Food Street Team
- Strategize on and implement tactics to build social media following and platform growth
- Support in engaging with other accounts to build relationships online through liking and commenting. Brand + Creative Manager, Experience Department, and Executive Director to provide guidance and best practices
- Support the onboarding and management of on-site social media interns execute social media plan on-site during the 2025 Charleston Wine + Food Festival
- Act as a brand representative of Charleston Wine + Food and portrays our values of people first, community, and good stewardship.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to see trends through transferable knowledge and communicate them effectively
- Experience with Slack, CRM and Event/Project Management Software is a plus
- People-person with excellent communication and listening skills, who is passionate about building and maintaining community connections and long-term relationships
- Ability to effectively present ideas - both verbally and visually
- Ability to think creatively, fosters innovation, and develops new ideas within a small fast paced department
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with shifting deadlines
- Strong ability to work strategically and efficiently in a team setting
- Well-organized with diligent attention to detail
- Curiosity and willingness to learn
- Access to a laptop and cell phone that is able to run cloud-based softwares and apps
- Proficient in G Suite and experience with database management using Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Comfortable working in an outdoor setting (rain, cold, mud)
REQUIRED DATES:
- Participate in the following year round meetings, either remotely or in person:
- Weekly 1:1 sync with Brand + Creative Manager and participate and present at organizational meetings on a as needed basis
- On-site for festival execution from March 5 - March 9, 2025 as well as for setup and breakdown
