Administrative Assistant/Finance Clerk
The Town of Milford Water Utilities Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Administrative Assistant/Finance Clerk.
The Administrative Assistant/Finance Clerk reports to the Water Utilities Director and the Water/Sewer Commissioners. The responsibilities include:
- performing a wide range of complex administrative functions for the Water/Sewer Commissioners, Director, Assistant Director, and Foremen, including work of a confidential nature.
- will assist the Director with finance functions to include: gathering and submitting bi-weekly payroll; accounts receivable and accounts payable. While the initial scope of work may require oversight, as processes are learned, the position becomes fairly autonomous.
- will organizes material for executive level meetings.
- Work performed will require exercising a high degree of judgment and tact.

Requirements The successful candidate will have one to three years related job experience with at least (1) one year in a municipal environment; an Associate Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the capacity to process work related to an AR/AP and administrative roles. The successful candidate must be skillful in making calculations accurately, and must possess good communication and organizational skills and be receptive to adapting to new concepts and procedures. Must have the ability to think outside the box. Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, and have working knowledge of MS Excel. MuniLink for billing and Sage Financial Software, Attention to detail is essential.
This is a full-time position (40 hrs, M-F 7:00 - 3:30) with a wage range of $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Starting wage will be dependent on experience.
