2024 Summer Internships at Southeastern Grocers
Southeastern Grocers is looking for highly motivated, organized and creative interns for our exciting 2024 summer program at our Jacksonville Store Support Center!
Our interns will have the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to our people-first grocery retail business. Our summer interns work with leaders from across our organization to plan and execute project that will directly contribute to the success and growth of SEG! Our program offers personal and professional development opportunities, leadership networking and the opportunity to build life-long friendships with fellow career-minded interns.

The Deets:
- An in-person, paid 12-week program, starting in mid-May, at our Jacksonville, FL Store Support Center.
- Our summer internship program is geared towards rising college juniors and seniors with a GPA of at least 3.0.
*** PROJECT REQUIREMENTS****
Education: A degree or coursework in sustainability, environmental science, business, social sciences, government/law or related topic is preferred though not required.Communication Skills: This person should be comfortable working cross functionally and with various levels of the company. Strong verbal & written communication skills preferred.
Technical Skills:Technical Skills: Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite (Powerpoint, Word, Excel, etc).Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members across different departments.
Analytical Skills: Experience collecting data from various resources to establish an action plan.
Passion: Would prefer someone with a passion for sustainability.
Details- This project will require a thorough review of our current Own Brand product packaging and potential components. It will also require discovery with the supplier and packaging community to understand options and the costs associated with those. They will review what other retailers are doing to accomplish their commitments & the overall landscape of environmentally friendly packaging and products. Cost is an important aspect of this and something they will explore with both the Product Development team, SEG Packaging Design Team & supplier/printer/packaging contacts. They will have full access to the Own Brand team to include the Quality Control & Product Development teams. They will also work with Merchandising, Marketing, and the Community team. They will have access to FMI (Food Industry Association) and their sustainability council to use as resources and learn from. They will also work closely with many supplier, packaging, design, and industry expert contacts.
