GENERALSTATEMENTOFRESPONSIBILITIES: General Statement of Responsibilities:
Collects, classifies, and formats data or information. Provides information, guidance, and instruction. Responsible for achieving moderate economies and/or preventing moderate losses through the management or handling of property, materials, or supplies of high value or moderate amounts of money. Reads routine sentences or instructions; writes routine sentences and completes routine work forms; speaks routine sentences using standard grammar.
REPORTSTO:Directorof Finance
PRINCIPALDUTIES:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of property control policy and procedures to provide definitive guidance in this area.
- Administer the asset management program for the district, including the property control/inventory function according to policy.
- Act as system administrator for the property control database and serve as a technical expert for staff questions.
- Act as a liaison for all school and business staff, as well as members of the public, regarding property control (purchases, sales, donations, recycling, etc.).
- Maintain an inventory of all capital and non-capital property at all locations throughout the district.
- Reconcile monthly capital acquisitions.
- Ensure that items are issued a BPI number and tagged monthly.
- Maintain the property control database for data accuracy.
- Enter additions, transfers, adjustments, or disposal of equipment requests.
- Make recommendations for the removal of assets based on age, condition, etc.
- Coordinate the removal of assets via sale, donations to non-profits, recycling, or disposal.
- Oversee the annual inventory of capital and non-capital property.
- Work with MVD for license plates.
- Work with auditors on fixed assets for the district.
- Deliver and pick up warrants and vouchers to and from the district to the county.
- Attend training for their areas.
- Reconcile cash.
- Take cash to the bank.
- Pick up cash from sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of warehouse storage and distributionpolicies and practices.Knowledgeofpurchasingandinventoryproceduresand practices.Knowledgeofcomputer hardwareandsoftware applications.
- Skill in performing inventory andstorageactivities.
- Skill in operating computer hardware and software applications.
- Skill in establishing andmaintainingeffective workingrelationshipswith others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Able to performthefollowingphysicalrequirementsoftheposition with or withoutreasonableaccommodation: critical sensory requirements includegeneral vision, corrected to 20/20,hear orlisten in the normalrange(corrected)andspeakandgive directions clearly.Able towalk, stand,kneel,crouch,crawl, reach, lift (exerting force up to60 pounds), carry,push, pull or otherwisemoveobjects.Ableto crawl, bend and work in confined spaces.Able to drive/travelin theperformance ofjob requirements.Able to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diplomaorGED and two (2) years of experienceinwarehouse workandproperty control OR anequivalentcombinationofeducationandexperiencethatprovide the required knowledgeandskills.
