Brilla Public Charter Schools is a network of K-8th grade schools that currently serves 1,800 students from Mott Haven, University Heights, and other neighborhoods in the Bronx. The network is growing from its current four elementary and two middle schools to five elementary and five middle schools educating some 4,000 students in the Bronx and Paterson, NJ. The Charter Management Organization (CMO) for Brilla Schools Network is Seton Education Partners, an organization inspired by the Catholic educational tradition, that also manages the Seton Teaching Fellows missionary program and El Camino, an optional after-school Catholic faith formation program. Position Overview:
The Operations Manager, managed by the school based Director of Operations, will have responsibility of supporting the DOO in managing the operations team, as well as the day to day logistics of the school. As the Director of Operations leads the vision of the team, it is the job of the operations manager to execute that vision.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supports the Director of Operations in creating and managing systems for inventory, records management,accountability, procurement and key school logistics
- Responsible for assisting in site level purchasing of supplies, materials, equipment while playing key role in procurement and inventory management
- Supports the implementation of transportation, food services, facilities maintenance, security and other third party vendor contracts.
- Promotes and maintains a positive and efficient school environment, by ensuring that all interactions with stakeholders are prompt, helpful and friendly
- Manages front office, providing initial support to family and staff inquiries
- Works with school personnel to maintain integrity and accuracy of student records, including the maintenance of our student information systems (ATS, Powerschool, Schoolmint)
- Plays key role in the enrollment process and assists in meeting network enrollment targets
- Assists in ensuring that key compliance requirements are met in collaboration with the Director of Operations. This includes the coordination of school surveys and completion of key city/state reports
- Manages and coordinates the facilities team to ensure the cleanliness of our school facility and surrounding areas
- In conjunction with our IT firm supports the technological needs of our schools. This includes computer inventory, ticket monitoring and basic troubleshooting
Key Qualifications and Competencies:
- Deep belief in our mission with a passion for contributing to a team oriented, mission driven school culture
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years experience in an office environment; education experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to think and act strategically
- Entrepreneurial spirit and strong desire to be part of a team changing the educational discourse
- Bilingual preferred given our current student demographics
The base pay range for this position is $80,000-$95,000 per year in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Pay may vary within the stated range, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
