This role will be Supporting Automotive development by creating and applying 1D CAE models and processes for vehicle handling, ride comfort, NVH, steering and brake performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate and apply 1D CAE methods for both specification setting and product verification in the area of vehicle dynamics related to vehicle handling, ride comfort, NVH, steering, and brake performance.
- Develop and evaluate metrics for the quality of modeling and analysis.
- Assist in setting the plan for the technical direction of CAE methods development.
- Collaborate with test and design teams to ensure CAE models achieve accuracy targets.
- Create documentation for the registration of CAE Models as a verified tool for specification setting and product verification.
- Utilize Excel to create and update project schedules.
- Travel to client site required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years relevant exp. or Master's degree in Engineering and 8+ years relevant exp.
- Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Automotive.
- Expertise with 1D CAE such as Matlab/Simulink/Simscape, CarSim, CarMaker, Simpack/Adams, AmeSim.
- Proficiency with programming language software such as Python, and VBA.
- Ability to develop new CAE Models/Methods and performing verification and validation.
- Ability to present complex concepts as simple summaries.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including excel.
- CAD (CATIA V5/V6) design experience preferred.
