TITLE: Lamination Operator
STATUS: Hourly
LOCATION: Toccoa Plant
DEPARTMENT: Lamination/Warehouse
REPORTS TO: Department Supervisor or Manager
PURPOSE/RESPONSIBILITY:
To perform the production process in order to optimize the use of all resources in meeting and/or exceeding established plant goals and client/customer expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Follow all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures.
* Demonstrate behavior that aligns with plant expectations and the Company’s CITE Principles.
* Successfully complete all training required for operation of assigned area.
* Productively operate all machines in assigned area and produce quality products.
* Manage multiple operations that run simultaneously through the lamination line.
* Identify and distinguish between all types of materials to be run and all colors to be produced.
* Retrieve orders to be run for the day from MRP Comp.
* Order material from the warehouse.
* Communicate effectively with other team members in assigned department (lamination/warehouse team lead and utility tech, lamination forklift operator, and receiving forklift operator).
* Perform calibrations, adjustments and pre-run testing for setups and changeovers.
* Perform quality checks and input data into Infinity software.
* Create and print tickets for finished material.
* Accurately report material transactions, including scrap/salvage.
* Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected, and notify team lead of any malfunctions.
* Troubleshoot and accurately report machine issues to maintenance and/or other support groups.
* Complete the PM’s for all equipment, tools and support equipment within assigned area.
* Responsible for daily 5s/ clean-up expectations for assigned area.
* Responsible for keeping area to a standard that prepares it for next shift operations.
* Train new or back-up operators using certified peer trainer tools and techniques.
* Participate on Kaizen, TPM and cross-functional teams events as requested.
* Understand all applicable machinery and equipment in assigned area.
* Successfully complete all training required to operate a Jib Crane to change machine and paper rolls.
* Operate computer software necessary to assigned area.
* Ensure compliance to all safety, quality, production, materials and plant policies and procedures.
* Available to work assigned work schedule shift/hours as necessary to meet client/customer requirements as directed by plant management.
* Perform other tasks as directed by plant management.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
There may also be activities or functions that are plant-specific or applicable to the specific area of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
* High School Diploma/ GED preferred. In lieu of education, extensive knowledge of all processes associated within the scope of the respective team may be considered.
* Manufacturing/work experience and willingness to learn to operate required position in the team assigned.
* Track record of successful team support, meeting work performance expectations and commitment toward continuous improvement.
* Experience performing duties in a working in team environment committed to positive performance and SQDC goal achievement.
* Demonstrated behavior that supports the company’s core values and CITE principles.
* Has excellent communication skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must read, analyze, and interpret common business documents such as packing lists, manifests, bills of lading, pallet tickets, or job orders. Must communicate effectively with co-workers and customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Use basic mathematical concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to such tasks as inventory control, material ordering, and job order verification.
REASONING SKILLS:
Perceive problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an assorted number of tasks or instructions.
